Through a partnership with the 3rd Med group at Elemndorf Airforce Base the preceptor course is offered to ANMC employees as well as nurses and other disciplines stateside.  a sixteen hour preceptor development course 3-4 times per year. The program is based on the state of the art Vermont Preceptor Development Program. Some of the topics include: the role of the preceptor, the novice to expert model, emotional intelligence, orientation planning, fostering critical thinking in the novice, socialization, reality shock, competency assessment, communication and giving feedback, conflict management, delegation and liability, teamwork and change theory.
