The Alaska Native Medical Center Emergency Department Welcome to the Emergency Department(ED) at ANMC! With over 56,000 annual visits to the Emergency Department and the adjoining Urgent Care Center, we are Alaska's second busiest ED and the only level 2 trauma center (there are no level 1's). We provide 24-hour-a-day care to local Anchorage residents and also help guide the care and medevacs for our Native patients in Bush Alaska through close communication with village health care providers. Skilled physicians manage the care of patients who require urgent specialty care in surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, mental health, neurology, cardiology, hepatology, diabetes management, dermatology, rheumatology, critical care, and general medicine. Emergency physicians work with patients' primary providers as well as specialists to diagnose and treat patients (by admitting them to the hospital or making outpatient care plans). Our First Website This website is meant as a resource for those of us who work in the ED, those of us who use the ED, and anyone with questions about how our ED functions. There are employee-specific areas that are secured by password. Please see specific pages in the list to the left for site content.
