SCF's Exercise Program held their First Annual 5K Fun Run on Sat., May 5th in support of SDPI programs statewide.   The event started at 10am beginning at the NEON building and wove throughout the ANMC campus.   Participants could choose from a 1 mile walk or a timed 3 mile run.  71 Participants of all ages and ambitions came and joined the fun.  Several customers from Health Education's Diabetes Gathering showed their support by taking part in the 1 mile walk, some with walkers and wheelchairs.  After the race, everyone shared in some fresh fruit and talked about how much they were looking forward to next year's event.  One mile walker Marge Parker commented on "how lucky we are to have all of these wonderful Diabetes Programs".  Adding, "Everyone who has diabetes or knows of someone that does, should be here to take part in this great event.  We know that exercise is the key for not only improving Diabetes but also preventing it!"
