The Respiratory Therapy Department specializes in treating respiratory illnesses including chronic lung problems such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, as well as acute breathing problems associated with serious or life-threatening conditions such as traumatic injury, heart attack or stroke.
Pulmonary Function Lab | Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The pulmonary function laboratory provides testing to eliminate possible lung disease such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, COPD, emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema, or progression of a disease. It also monitors possible medication side effects on the lungs.
The outpatient lab is located on the second level of ANMC next to CCU. Testing includes:
- Diffusion capacity
- Thoracic gas volumes
- Lung volumes
- Airway resistance
- Methacholine challenge
